I think there are many card combos that could "break" this idea, but the simplest approach is, try it and see whether it's actually fun for your group(s), or more trouble than it was worth. You may find you have to make up additional house rules to clarify certain situations, but again, just try it out and let us [mailing list] know how it went for you, especially if you did need to tweak your original idea. On the face of it, I think it's a good idea -- I know one time we played in a big group and one player got sulky and specifically made someone else win just to end the game; obviously that's a fun deficit. Cheers, Joe {I wonder if someone thought of this already. But here goes... Background: - I usually bring my Fluxx decks (original&zombie) when i hang out with my friends. We usually play with at least 6 players (near the limit). If it's the first time they saw/play Fluxx, waiting for their turn is fine, as they try to read and understand the concept. But after awhile, maybe after 2 games, they seem to be just waiting for their turn (especially if it's like Draw 5 and Play 4). That's a lot of waiting for especially if you're the 6th person. My Suggestion: - Why not have 2 players play simultaneously (only works for players 4 or more). If it's 6 players playing in a circle, the players opposite each other take their turns together. They will take turns drawing cards face-down and turn them up at the same time. There's no order who draws (but if a card asked you to draw 3 cards, draw 3 cards straight before the other player draws). In terms of playing the cards, who ever calls it(or place it down) goes first. Otherwise, same rules applies as regular Fluxx. My Thoughts: - I think this will speed up the game and make it more fun(and chaotic). ^_^ I haven't tried this yet, but I will when an opportunity to play Fluxx with my friends arises. I would like to hear your thoughts about this? Maybe i'm missing a flaw. :P}
