HTML (or at least subsets of it) yes, JavaScript hopefully not without
intervention from an administrator (cross-site scripting attacks and
all).
But MediaWiki has built in support for sortable tables. I added an
example of one to the Sandbox, at http://rabbits.continuation.org/wiki/RabbitWiki:Sandbox
