Two thoughts . . .
1) Yes, it's likely designed to get people to pay to "win."
and
2) Because of the "free" advertising, and that other groups who run similar,
but fee-free, awards will hear about you, I'd give it a try.
I'd also see what you can do, although I'm sure you already have, to get
them reviewed in Games Magazine and Knights of the Dinner Table, And So On.

Subject: [Edu] thoughts on NAPPA?
Date: Wed, 17 May 2006 13:50:46 -0400
is anyone familiar with the National Parenting Publications Awards?
<http://nappa.parenthood.com/>
we are trying to decide if we should send in Family Fluxx and Treehouse
but there is a fee involved to submit products...
so I was wondering if this is an award worth winning
anyone have any thoughts on the subject?
-Kristin (of the Looney variety)
