Can/do pyramid bases get chipped by being kept loosely in a bag? or being rattled and such?
Not really chipped, that I've found. They don't stay looking like new forever, of course, but the pyramids are pretty durable. I throw mine into a plastic box where they can rattle around in my checked luggage, so somebody who babies their pyramids could have even better results. But are you seeing a true chip? If it's in the center of one of the four sides, it's probably an artifact of removing the sprue. Many pyramids, especially large ones, have a small stub of sprue remaining; a few may have a divot at the sprue site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprue_%28molding%29 Hope this helps! --Tom Phoenix
