A while back, there was some talk about using PVC pipe to construct humongous Icehouse pyramid shapes. These connectors would make it a matter of having pipes cut to the correct lengths. http://www.leevalley.com/US/garden/page.aspx?p=64726&cat=2,43319,33282 Looks like one type B and four type A would be enough, though three type B and two type A would enable you to add a diagonal brace across the base.
