Title: An InFluxx of Insanity
Location: UBCon, SUNY at Buffalo, NY
Date: April 8, 2006

As my first of two Looney Labs events at UBCon, I ran a game of Fluxx. I combined my copies of Fluxx (2.x and 3.x), EcoFluxx, Family Fluxx, and Stoner Fluxx into one huge deck. 5 players showed up for the event. 2 had played at least one version of Fluxx before.

Having placed Keeper equivalent up on the blackboard (Sun = Sunshine, mice = mouse, Andy Looney = Brain and A Friend [why not?], etc), it only took a quick explanation before we got started.

The first game lasted an hour, with a variety of goals and keepers making it onto the table. The second game lasted a half hour, ending when someone put the equivalent of an "auto win" combination on the table (Play all, Composting, Empty the Trash, Jackpot. He was able to keep pulling Jackpot back into his hand, so he was able to keep drawing until he had a goal and its keepers in his hand to play). The third game lasted 15 minutes. The fourth, 7.5 minutes (I'm not kidding here. We started timing it after the 15 minute game). The fifth lasted 10 minutes, but the winner said he didn't realize he had a winning goal/keeper combo in his hand for about 7 minutes (which would have made the 5th game only 3.75 minutes or so if he'd played it when he originally could *g*).

All players had fun and the player of the "auto win" combo was chosen to take the Con-supplied prize due to "breaking the game".
