All hook-n-loop fastners... anything Velcro or looks like it.  Velcro is evil in my world (and anything else fuzzy). I like magnets though.

 

And, no, you can't cut and fold it into a cube. each peice needs to independent to it can be swaped and aimed. That seemed obvious. gotta be able to aim and swap....

 

Hmmm.. maybe you can stack the coasters like that chess game they play on Star Trek.

What on earth is wrong with Velcro?  Are you against all hook-and-loop
fasteners, or just the Velcro brand?
