Title: Starfest 2007 Report
Location: Denver, CO
Date: April 20-22, 2007

Well, I have helped run demos at the Denver Starfest convention before, but it was usually my wife, the lovely Cece, who was in charge. This year, however, she was out of town for the weekend, so she was only able to contact the convention to set it up, and I was running it onsite. Fortunately it was not just me, I had help from rabbits Chuck and Molly.

Starfest (every Spring in Denver) is mainly a Science Fiction convention that focuses on genre media such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and so-on, but has plenty of events going on for fans of costuming, horror, gaming, and so forth.

We ran the experiment through various sessions over the weekend, and got enthusiastic players for Nanofictionary, Ice Towers, Zendo, Volcano, Aquarius, Just Desserts, Treehouse, Martian Chess, Chrononauts (and Early-American Chrononauts), the various editions of Fluxx, and Are You a Werewolf?

Are You a Werewolf? seemed to be a particular favorite, especially with the younger players, and we held a late-evening Werewolf marathon.

We had a great time, as did all the attendees, and we gave out plenty of stickers and promo cards, and informed lots of people about Looney games they had not yet heard of.

You can see a few pictures of the convention which I posted on flickr:
