I've been toying with an alternate version of Chrononauts in which players can only play inverters, patches, etc., on cards that contain a time traveler. Each player would control a time travel agency consisting of a number (5?) of time travelers and one time machine. Before the regular draw and play action each player would be able to move their time machine a certain number of spaces around the map, picking up and dropping off time travelers as they go. Has anything like this been suggested before?

You might need an expanded deck, with more copies of patches, or more drawing from the discard pile, or something. It's already tricky to get the cards you need for the timeline; you'll want to compensate for the added difficulty of getting to the right spot to play them.

It would be cute if you started with *two* time agents, but any upstream change duplicated all downstream agents, because now you have two versions from the two timelines working together.... okay, probably that's out of control.
