The problem is that most cards are plastic coated. Any water-based inks must be allowed to dry completely and then lightly sprayed with some kind of fixative. Sharpies work well because the solvent in them dissolves the plastic a little so that the ink bonds to the card coating when it dries. One down side of this is that a little bit of plastic gets sucked into the tip of the marker. This clogs the fine point Sharpies very quickly and will clog even the regular point Sharpies eventually. Capping the pen and letting it sit for a while allows the pen to recover, but have a few handy if you need to do a bunch of cards. > Addendum: The nano-blanks card took to stamping really well.
