You beat me to it, Bill.  Obviously I didn't even read the text 
myself before sending a silly reply.

I would go with "Each player takes" instead of "All players take"...
and in regards to where those zombies go, I would interpret it as
player's choice, since either the left or right player is generally
considered "next to you"... it's a gray area to be certain.
