Back when I heard that MPF was going to be shipping in September, these were
my thoughts:
"Whoohoo! Oops, wrong show.
"Oh. Oh my. Simpsons Fluxx. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
I think that The Simpsons would be another great theme for Fluxxification,
with even a bigger potential market than Monty Python. And given the number
of Simpsons games you can see on the shelves, it looks like the Simpsons
folks are quite open to games based on it.
I'm sure we can think of way more cool themes than Andy & co. could ever
have time to develop, even ideas they loved.
But if this licensing happens more than once, and it really works out, it
could put them in the nice dilemma of handling success. They'd have to
balance several things: small & intimate vs. larger & more lucrative,
complete creative control vs. development oversight, Fluxx themed versions
vs. new game ideas, etc.
