Last fall there was a discussion about starting an annual "Best of the Year" awards for pyramid games from 2009. It was pointed out that this year would be a good year to get started and have kinks worked out before the 20th anniversary of Icehouse next year. Given that people were thinking about having it in conjunction with Origins, and that they are starting to firm up the Origins schedule, it's a good time to raise the question again. Assuming there is enough interest to follow through with this, here are issues about it that come to mind, and that need procedures or policies decided on: - Name and nature of award(s) - Eligibility - Nomination - Selection of finalists - Voting - Relation to Origins - just have voting there (though not exclusively there) - just present the award there - do both - Who will decide all these policies - Who will actually run all this I imagine that if a small committee were selected (self-selected?), they could make most of the decisions. I for one am willing to help run it. Comments?
