When played by more experienced players, it is better to follow the recommendations of the rules and experiment more with distribution of scoring pyramids. For four players, I recommend that every player got a monochromatic "tree", and then put one pyramid into his left and one into his right hand. Then all players at once give one pyramid to opponent on the left side and one to opponent on the right side. That eliminates a significant drop in points (from 7 to 2) after losing the first pyramid. For another number of players distribution of pyramids depends on their agreement. For tactical reasons, it is preferable that a player has at the beginning the smallest possible number of points - meaning that pyramids do not form a "tree".
