We've been occasionally posting about Volity. (Hopefully we don't sound
like preaching morons. I'm putting this on the Something list because it's
about our purposes, not Looney Labs purposes or Rabbit purposes --
although obviously we think there is mutual support to be had.)
We're currently in a "developer beta" mode: we want people to look at
Volity, and think about developing games for the Volity system. (Currently
that means "playable on the Net for free". We hope to eventually offer the
ability to charge money or subscription fees for games, if that's the way
you want to run them.)
Now, lots of game designers and programmers read this list, so this offer
is open to you. Go for it! We're cool.
However, my actual question is: where should I be posting this
announcement? I'm not on any serious game-design forums. (Except for the
text adventure newsgroups, but that's a separate matter. Yes, I have a
plan for that...) You folks are probably on more than me. What mailing
lists, web forums, newsgroups, blogs, wikis, and so on would be interested
in an open-source rapid-development platform for net board/card games?
"And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these were the borogoves..."
Making a saint out of Reagan is sad. Making an idol out of Nixon ("If the
President does it then it's legal") is contemptible.
