How can Violet Blue be dead and have a movie come out 11 years later?

I mean it is posible if there is a huge amout of stock footage to work with but 11 years is a bit much.

It's a biography film. Those often come out long after the subject dies and don't generally include original footage of the subject. In the past few years there have been films on J.M. Barrie (died 1937), Cole Porter (1964), Truman Capote (1984), etc.
