My husband only recognizes 10 colors I think. Black, white, grey, brown, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. The Crayola Crayon box of 10 colors.
no gold or lime or pink or tan in his vocabulary.
I do agree there is a need to keep colors easily distinguishable for the gereral population.

Ah, but color is all about perception, isn't it? If it looks like brown, it
is indeed brown. I think that it would be quite difficult to make a dark
yellow along with a dark orange and keep them distinguishable.
