Now, what was that again about "not taken seriously"? Sure, if you hire a bunch of 70s melodrama bit actors and a student of Ray Harryhausen SFX. But punch it up to the 21st century--modern CGI and SFX; a darker, grittier sensibility (what if Sleestacks find human flesh tasty?)--and you could get some hair-raising stuff.
