Title: House of Games Little Exp
Location: House of Games, St Peters, MO
Date: 2007-02-23

Pretty much the entire St Louis Warren (Timothy, Di, Chris, Keith, Melissa,
Douglas, Ed) turned out in order to teach a few (!) games at a new game
store in the St Louis metro area (in fact, the warren was created to
facilitate making this particular event happen efficiently). Below are
some "best guesstimate" stats based on the stat cards that were returned by
the other Rabbits.

We started off at 6pm with 3 games of AYAW? (And they loved the "I am not a
werewolf" t-shirt from the AYAW? kit), then broke off into groups to play
Chrononauts and Fluxx, and juts went from there, getting out IceHouse games
before long.

Sometime around 11:30, we had 3 more games of AYAW? including some people
who hadn't been around the first time. Over all, if I remember rightly, it
ended up being Werewolves 3 Villagers 3, but the second game of the second
set was amazing... 2 lynchings... 2 werewolves killed, so the village only
lost 2 villagers!

The games we played included:

Fluxx
EcoFluxx
Martian Coasters
Volcano
Zendo
Chrononauts
AYAW?
TreeHouse
Martian Chess
IceTowers
Thin Ice
Aquarius

I think we had somewhere around 30 people, and there were 90 "new games *
people" (ie, on average, each person played 3 games that were new to them).
I know a couple of people managed to get 9 different games in.

Best guess for promo cards is that between 15 and 20 cards of various types
were given out, and Fluxx 3.0 went to one of the AYAW? players.

I'll admit I'm a big Zendo fan, so I'll also highlight a couple of points
of Zendo games...

I played 4 games as master... and kept the same initial 2 koans for all
four rules I had, which was highly amusing. Di's group wanted a "hard
rule" so she gave them "the same number of red pips as green pips". Her
initial Koans were a red nest in the "House" configuration for HAS NOT, and
a blue nest in the "House" configuration for HAS. Evil Evil Evil! But
lots of fun. They did seem to enjoy it :)

One other interesting highlight...

One of the people walked in, saw me with the pyramids and said "Hey, are
you from Maryland?" My reply, of course was "No, a bit further East..."
It turns out that this gentleman, Steven Boruke, went to college with Keith
Baker (who I know has been an IceHouse champion in the past, and I believe
has designed some pyramid games). So it was really great to make that
connection!

You can see a picture of Steven, plus some of the other games we played
here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/timotab/tags/hoglilexp/

All in all, we had a fun time, and we have already been invited to come
back and do another Little Experiment in the future, though I said I needed
some time to recover from this first.  I'm not burnt out on boardgaming;
far from it. It's just I think my wife is forgetting what I look like :)

My last few stats are mildly interesting, and I'm including them as they
partly came about as a direct result of planning this event, because it
means I've played a few more LL games than I might otherwise have done.

So far this year (as of 2/23 at the conclusion of the event), I have played
a total of 153 games (2.83 games per day). Of those games, 90 have been
Looney Labs games. Of those 90, 76 have been pyramid games, and of those
76, 48 have been games of Zendo.
