Thanks for the outreach, everyone. Warm wishes and help is appreciated. I did lose all my games - but at least my people and cats were safe. I cannot go down to the basement at all. Been forbidden to, by my roommate due to allergies.

 

I will be attending Gen Con. I had already paid my hotel and badge fees and it is too late for a refund. I probably need the distraction.

 

Thanks for your support, and well wishes. It means a lot to me. I wish I could get out to Origins as well too :(

 

sigh. We will make it, and I love being a Rabbit!

I'm pretty much off the demo circuit, having devoted (most of) my energies
to my own LARP system design (GLASS) and to supporting friends in
independent RPG game design and publishing. I'm still a bit active on the
Icehouse wiki and list, but I'm no long a "Mad Lab Rabbit" for MACE or any
other local con (hence the reason I've not kept the Events page updated for
some time).

That said, I am currently trying to see which local indie developers are
planning to go, and what they want to run and when, so that we can
coordinate a sort of "Track" for this "new wave of gaming." But at least ONE
of my GM slots for MACE will be to run Are You A Werewolf or Are You The
Traitor (probably Friday or Saturday night); and I am trying to sorrt that
out with them as well.

I can, of course, coordinate some with whomever wants to assume the Mad Lab
Rabbit role for MACE; and I'd happily come demo some Icehouse or other games
at a Looney Labs table in off hours, if someone does a full-con demo/promo
table.

A Rabbit is in trouble and at the very least needs our good
thoughts/prayers/energy heading her way.

Melissa DePlanche's is a Rabbit from Kentucky.  You may have met her at
Origins where she made a suit of armor from leftover Aquarius pages a couple
of years ago.  She's a vibrant, wonderful person and my friend.  Her rabbit

Her home was flooded today.  I found out about it through LiveJournal, and

The worst paragraph of it is:
"The water has stopped flowing down the stairs. The water is even to the
level of the steps.The basement is flooded. One of my dressers is floating.
All my clothes, as well as Foxwit's and most of Nez's. All of our games -
board games, magic cards, rpg books and modules, dice. Card games....all is
under water. The washer, dryer, hot water heater, furnace - Nez's bike, all
under water..."

I've asked what friends can do to help and haven't heard back yet.  If you'd
like to be kept informed, ping me OFFlist please.  If I hear of others who
are organizing help, I will coordinate with them as well.

Please do send up some good energy for Melissa.  They're going to be going
through a very rough time in the near future as they pick up their lives
again.
