I was at work. And Jan (the j is a Y sound) told me that some idiot flew a private plane into the twin towers. We all thought it was a joke at first. Then we learned the awful truth. We watched it unfold on the Internet. I had a friend who worked in the towers and we were not able to contact her. It was three days later when we learned that she was ok. She had missed the subway and was walking to work late when the first plane hit. She was 1 block away.
