That is pretty close to our idea to "fix it" too. We are getting rid of player elimination altogether. That is, if you get "kicked off" your home continent, it just means you can't build until you can get back on it (and have an open space). You also obviously can't reach a winning position until you get a foothold back into your homeland.

We haven't tried version 2.0 yet, but I think it will play MUCH better.
