That was totally unnecessary. I don't want to organize the competition. What is wrong with a little discussion? I (and probably most of the people on the list) appreciate the time and effort you put on the competition, but that doesn't mean we have to agree to everything. Discussing and deciding as a community should be perfectly ok.

As for the accusations, let me remind you of what you wrote to the list:

...Are you hoping to submit Mundialito for the IGDC, even though it's
old and already heavily tested by those who participated in the 2007
Ciutat de Granollers de Creación de Juegos? If so, that's sort of... I
dunno... greedy? I mean, that game has had its testing and judging; it's
been noticed and refined; can't you come up with something new (or, at
the least, let others have a shot with newer, less-refined games)?

First, you imply I created the game which I didn't.

... And while we're speaking of Mundialito, it would have been nice if
the shots at this site showed actual Martian Coasters; the Looneys could
use the sales... and you also provide PDFs that basically keep someone
from ever having to buy any Treehouse sets or MCs to play it or any
other game that uses them. *sigh*

So, Mundialito does not actually "promote the sale of a second set to a
new adopter," (never mind that its downloads actually *suppress* sales)
so it doesn't qualify.

Then you accuse me of suppressing sales for the Loonies because I provide PDFs. First: I don't provide PDFs and I didn't make the game Second: The website you accuse, has actually managed to popularize Icehouse in Spain so that it's actually sold on game shops.

Jorge, I have a better solution than your poll (which, FWIW, is trying
to trump an already-conducted poll):

Congratulations! You're the new IGDC Coordinator. I will e-mail you the
IGDC.Coordinator@xxxxxxxxx password (change it please) and you can vet
or not whatever you want. You'll want a way to make a PDF of all the
games once submitted--it seems like folks liked that--and host it on the
Google Docs sub-site of the IGDC account. The instructions on the IGDC
page are fairly clear about how to "migrate" to the next competition
when you announce on the first day of Summer.

And just to remind you... I never "accused" you of anything; I asked.
Re-read the post: all question marks. I know that doesn't help your
claims of being aggrieved, but it's the facts. I don't feel obliged to
apologize for asking questions.

Brian, you may rest assured... the "David Artman Game Design Contest"
shall never again be a "risk" to this community.

...In closing... anyone else here (besides me) stop to think that this
whole spinning gyre might end up totally irrelevant, that there might
not even be an "invalid" submission (or that my suggestion to appeal to
the list for clemency would have solve the problem for the few we--err,
you--may get)?

Nah... easier to just make someone into the villain....

Good luck in the IGDC, everyone;
David
