Checkmate != fool's mate.

Checkmate is how you win a Chess game.

Fool's Mate is: 

p-kb3 | p-k4
p-kn3 | q-kr4 (mate)

And conversationally, similar situations where the game ends in the
minimal number of moves.

Bluebird is an endgame mistake that involves p1 blowing up half the
homeworld of p2 and allowing p2 to win specifically -because- of the
destruction of half her homeworld.
