I don't understand why you want to divide this small group.

I don't, which is why I don't bother trying to start a non-official forum. Also, if I *were* able to get an Official Forum on Wunderland or whatever, it would be for all the lists, not just Icehouse. And the forum software would have an option to forward all posts as emails (most forums have that option, right?), so the behavior of a listserv would be replicated for those who want it (even digest mail, IIRC).

It's really, REALLY not an issue. Dead horse, and all that. I manage fine, and delete most messages anyway (to save my storage from all the huge auto-quotes, mostly).

A forum exists for this mailing list that doesn't necessitate that split: http://old.nabble.com/Icehouse-f32099.html

Ah, cool--I didn't know that echo existed. But, again, I'd have a forum for all the lists, not just Icehouse.

neat, it even let's one reply, if one is a Nabble member. ALMOST like a forum, then--but the email source means all the forking and quoting problems persist (i.e. most forums don't end up with huge quotes, and thread-forking is more intuitive for me on nesting forums).

I don't believe there was ever a request to include a forum-view of the mailing list on the looneylabs or wunderland sites (just requests to abandon the lists in favor of just a web forum).

"Abandon" is not really applicable, right? I mean, as I said above: most forum software can be set, in User settings, to behave as a list. The converse is not true, aside from helper sites like Nabble. (And it appears that a Google Group will also "echo" a listserv, if its email is added to the list... neat!)

Anyhow...  back to your regularly scheduled emails (PLEASE?!?).
