[Icehouse] Frequency of emails

Hello,
 
I've signed up to receive these emails as a single daily digest. However, I'm receiving them a bit more than once per day. These digests show up in my inbox anywhere from 3-5 times a day. (I've verified my subscription settings.)
 
Can this be corrected?

I have gone to Origins in each of the last five years.  Plus, I live in
Columbus, so I could be a local contact if you needed, for example, to mail
stuff to town in advance of the event.  But unfortunately, I don't think I
would have the time or energy to be the point person on this.

I wouldn't want this to become a Looney thing.  I think it should be
community driven.  I see it as kind of an event within an event within an
event (y'know, because the Big Experiment itself is an event within an
event).  If we could put up a poster, have some copies of the rules (to the
award and the nominated games) lying around, that would be all that we would
need from them.  Otherwise, I would love for Andy and Kristen to participate
as fellow fans of Icehouse games, not as Looney Labs.

I've been trying to figure out a way to put the word "Community" into the
name, and I came up with:
Icehouse Community Excellence Awards (aka ICE Awards)

Sponsored by the Icehouse community.  We would need icehousegames.org for
reference to the rules (although we would need paper rules as well,
especially at Origins).  And we would need Looney Labs to let us crash their
party.  But otherwise, I think it should just be us.

On the whole, I like your counter-proposals as well as my own
proposals; it's time we get input from several other iceheads.

It's sounds fine to me to have just one rating, plus nominations for
special awards. I like your proposed categories:

But if this were done, I think each should have a strong option for
"no award", because again the field is too small to justify an
automatic award each year.  Since the theme would change from contest
to contest, "Best Use of Theme" would still be an appropriate title
there; but IMO the others would be better titled something like
"Special Award for {Aesthetics, Depth, Simplicity, Innovation}".

I have been to the past 2 Origins (2009 was my first year as a
Rabbit), and I plan to continue attending.

Assuming you mean an annual IGDC and an annual Awards in conjunction
with Origins, I agree.

Idea: after you play a game, each player can score it (and we just ask
people nicely not to ballot-stuff, just like the floating tournaments); at
the same time they can nominate the game for any number of special awards.

Overall winner is determined by the usual score voting procedure.

Special awards are done as an approval vote (score voting with a 0-1
range; nominated = 1, not-nominated = 0), but we set a minimum threshold
(.5? .75?) which, if no game reaches it, the award is not given.
