That's what this thread has been about for a while now. And that's
right, Pluto is not and has never been a planet, and the mistake was
officially corrected earlier this year. Some people are upset, and
think that just because the mistake lasted for 60 years or so it should
be made permanent. They're Wrong.
On the other hand, there's at least a superficial appearance that the
new definition of planet was created specifically to exclude Pluto.
That and, by some interpretations of the new definition (specifically
the "must have cleared its neighborhood" part), one or more of the
"big" planets (potentially including, well, all of them) wouldn't
qualify, either.
