More details on how this works at Origins: If you're staying in the main hotel, GAMA can credit your room account directly. This works very well if you're sharing a quad with three others. The actual math for rooms and badges is somewhat complex. It's based on the number of people you involve in your events, as judged by the number of tickets you collect. Basically, each ticket is worth 10 minutes towards your hour count for a comped badge or room slot. The way Looney Labs has been helping Rabbits meet their goals is by pooling hours. Some events are popular and collect way more tickets than are needed by the Rabbit running the event. Those tickets go in the pool and I think pretty much everybody who Rabbits enough hours has at least gotten their badge covered, even if their events prove unpopular. This also covers people who do administrative work in the lab that isn't tied to specific events. Be aware that doing enough stuff to get your room covered is hard. It basically means a lot of running around, and constantly running events for eight hours every day of the convention. The "work" is all playing games, so it's not quite a hardship, but it can be stressful/tiring. -- Elliott C. "Eeyore" Evans eeyore@xxxxxxxx
