Just pushes the same problem onto others. I have a friend with a design for
12 different colored stashes. If that's our restriction, how many games do
you think we're going to get . . . ?
I'm actually just playing devil's advocate to some extent. When the
restriction is decided, I'll noodle until I come up with an idea. I just
think that others might not. It is better to have more games entered than
fewer, and I think we get more designs with unrestricted contests.

This is one major problem (along with stifling creativity) with design
restricted contests - it doesn't encourage you to dust off an incomplete
idea / design, and polish it. I'm sure I'd have time to do that in a
non-restricted format, but I have no idea whether I'll be inspired to
come up with something new this way . . .
Solution: suggest a design/thematic restriction based on the design/theme
of your almost-complete game.
