Re: [Icehouse] Wherefore 3HOUSE?

Actually, I've been showing off volcano a lot over the last few weeks... and the caps seem kind of unnecessary.

It is very rare that there will be a situation on the board that requires you move the caps in a way that you cannot, and most of the brainpower of the game is looking at what's under the caps (trying to get piece X or X pieces)... Aside from reminding people where eruptions start (one space past the origin), and occasionally blocking eruptions, they don't really do all that much in my opinion. But this is a topic for a different thread. (I'll still have to try a capless game of volcano though to see how it goes).

I'm excited to hear that LooneyLabs is getting back to marketing pyramids after the year(s) of fluxx (I still think it's fun in small groups in small amounts... but I personally don't need more than 2-3 flavors of it... though... Martians... hmm...)

I don't know if there is any room in the packaging concept, but I

are taking a vote, nor is this *really* a democracy...)  Obviously I'm
not involved in marketing pyramids -- except, well, I sort of am, a
little bit, because when I demo volcano, the question comes up: "how
do i get this, and how much does it cost?" at which point I explain
the system model.  Having small greys pre-packed in the set would be
awfully helpful to new players, I think.

(although, at least once, I have gone on to say that you don't really
need any other color caps, and could just as easily use styrofoam bits
or cheetos or something which will puncture nicely and sit on top of
your pyramids as volcano caps.  they're just indicators, eh)
