Right on! I feel exactly the same way.
I'm honestly surprised at all the "blue = cyan" opinions being
voiced. Perhaps it's my linguistic interests at work here, but I
don't see the similarity as particularly strong. In Hebrew, for
example, nobody would use the word "kahol" (blue) to describe
"tkhelet" (cyan). Cyan is a color all its own. It's sort of bluish,
but it's also sort of greenish, in the same way orange is sort of
reddish.
My guess is that most people don't really *see* the colors as
strongly equivalent, but they *think* the English color names "blue"
and "light blue", and having been trained to consider cyan a kind of
blue, they make the connection that way.
